The deficit in silver supply is expected to persist after 2026, though its intensity may gradually diminish. @METALOCUS forecasts a slow reduction of the imbalance, but warns that a return to a sustainable surplus would require an extremely rare combination of supply growth and demand decline.

Silver mining, which provides the vast majority of available supply, is likely to remain constrained, making it difficult to maintain inventory levels adequate for demand.

Meanwhile, demand continues to be driven by multiple rapidly growing sectors, including data centers, artificial intelligence, automotive electrification, grid investments, aerospace, and advanced electronics. While silver inventories are not completely depleted, the supply buffer is shrinking quickly. The market remains extremely tight, with limited room to respond to sudden demand spikes, increasing the likelihood of future liquidity deficits and price volatility. Six consecutive years of supply deficits have made the silver market more vulnerable to sudden supply disruptions, price surges, and investor pressure.
